THE FARM AT SUNRISE ACRES
Welcome
We are the Courter Family and we are first generation homesteaders. Located in south central Missouri, we raise Highland cattle, Valais Blacknose sheep, and other farm animals on our 50 acre farm. We also offer animal experiences and photos, as well as other products you may find on the website at times. We are blessed to witness beautiful sunrises and sunsets from our farm, and they continually remind us that the Lord's mercies are new every morning and His faithfulness is great.
Our Story
Originally from Alaska, I've always enjoyed the outdoors. As a teen I remember admiring the massive vegetables at the Alaska State Fair. They were a product of the long daylight hours in the "Land of the Midnight Sun". I became interested in aquaponic and solar greenhouses as an adult, which led to our aquaponic greenhouse here at the farm. My husband, a retired US Marine, moved to Missouri with the idea of homesteading, and together we started the Farm at Sunrise Acres. We hope to improve our community by increasing access to local farm fresh food, producing quality heritage livestock, and offering opportunities for others to interact with the beautiful animals on the farm. Whether you're here for a visit, to purchase a pasture pet, or grow your own homestead, we're happy to help you on your journey.
